What cookies and browser storage are

A cookie is a small text file a website leaves on your device and sends back to its server each time you open a page. Browser storage, or local storage, is a similar place to keep a value, except that what is stored stays on your device and is not sent back to the server automatically.

What this site stores

• A value named kb-consent in your browser's local storage, recording only the choice you made on the consent bar: accept all, or necessary only. Its purpose is to stop the bar appearing on every visit
• That value contains no name, no user id and no identifier of any kind, and it is never sent back to our server
• We set no cookies for analytics, advertising, campaign measurement or cross-site tracking
• There are no embedded social media buttons, no measurement pixels and no third-party marketing scripts

External services the pages call

• The site loads its typefaces from an external font service, so your browser connects to that provider's domain to download the font files. The request sets no cookie, but the provider sees your IP address, as it would for any internet request
• Our infrastructure provider may keep technical access records for security and reliability. Those records are not cookies and we do not use them to analyse visitor behaviour
• Links to retailers take you off this site. Once you arrive, that retailer's own cookie policy applies instead

If measurement tools are added later

If we add analytics or another service that sets cookies, we will do all of the following before it goes live.

• List the provider, the cookie type, its purpose and its lifetime on this page
• Load the tool's scripts only when you have chosen accept all, never in advance of consent
• Show the consent bar again, so you can decide on the changed list
• Update the date at the foot of this page to the day the tool starts running

Withdrawing or changing your consent

• Clear this site's data or storage in your browser settings. The consent bar will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently
• Set your browser to refuse cookies and site storage for this domain. Everything still works; the bar will simply appear on every visit
• Using your browser's private mode clears the stored value when you close the window

What refusing costs you

Nothing on this site depends on cookies. You can read every page, browse products, search and send a contact form with all storage refused.
